What happened

Russia has struck Kyiv's Northern Bridge following repeat attacks on another major crossing, according to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. Klitschko warned that Ukraine's capital faces a "very dramatic situation" as Russian strikes on critical infrastructure intensify.

Why it matters

Damage to key river crossings directly disrupts civilian transit and supply routes across the capital. Simultaneously, intensified bombardment of critical infrastructure impairs the delivery of essential municipal utilities.

Bigger picture

Systematic strikes on bridges and utility networks aim to degrade urban connectivity and weaken Kyiv's capacity as Ukraine's primary administrative and logistical hub.

Watch next

Watch for official damage assessments from Kyiv city authorities regarding the Northern Bridge and municipal announcements on utility and transport repairs.
